Warner v. Warner in Virginia?

Former Virginia governor Mark Warner;s name might not be on the ballot in Iowa or New Hampshire next year, but it might be on in his home state one more time. According to Chris Cillizza and Michael Shear at the Washington Post:
Before November 2006, it was believed the only Democratic candidate who get elected to Senate from Virginia was Mark Warner who still remain very popular. Mr. Webb proved that wrong, but Senator John Warner (R), a five-term incumbent, could prove a tougher cookie than George Allen. But Warner on the ticket in 08 might just what the Democrats need to put Virginia in the competitive category.
"Former Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner is being courted by national Democrats to run for the U.S. Senate seat now held by John W. Warner (R-Va.) and is seriously considering the 2008 challenge, several Capitol Hill and state sources said.
Mark Warner had dinner with Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Charles E. Schumer (N.Y.) last month, and the two have since talked regularly about the contest, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because a final decision has not been made."
